Description

This exceptional collection offers a deep dive into the life, legacy, and brilliant mind of Thomas Alva Edison, making it a spectacular find for any history buff or technology collector. The lot includes four distinct publications: a 1938 first edition of Edison’s Open Door written by his private secretary Alfred O. Tate (published by E.P. Dutton & Co., New York) featuring a printed inscription page; a 2010 edition of Edison’s Electric Light: The Art of Invention by Robert Friedel and Paul Israel (Johns Hopkins University Press); a vintage copy of Thomas Alva Edison: The Telegraph-Boy Who Became a Great Inventor by E.C. Kenyon (W. & R. Chambers, London and Edinburgh) featuring a handwritten gift inscription dated 1900; and the Winter/Spring 1997/98 NARAS Journal commemorative issue honoring Edison’s 150th birthday. Overall, the items are in good vintage to contemporary condition, showing appropriate signs of age and wear; the older volumes display typical shelf wear, corner bumping, page toning, and foxing, while the newer softcover and journal remain clean and crisp. Stacked, the lot measures approximately H 3.5″, W 8.75″, D 6″. Please see photos for condition.
