Lot 2025:
Description
An exceptional collection of six vintage and antique publications focused on early electrical engineering and technical sciences, representing a prime cross-section of late 19th-century to early 20th-century industrial history. Included in this lot are The ABC of Electricity by Wm. H. Meadowcroft (Frank F. Lovell & Co., New York, 1888/1889 copyright) featuring a printed facsimile endorsement letter from Thomas A. Edison’s Orange, New Jersey laboratory; Practical Electrics: A Universal Handy-Book (Spon & Chamberlain, New York / E. & F. N. Spon, London, 8th Edition, 1907); a scarce General Electric Company Lighting Apparatus and Supplies Catalogue (Schenectady, New York); Alfred Niaudet’s Elementary Treatise on Electric Batteries translated by L.M. Fishback (John Wiley & Sons, New York, 7th Edition, 1893); Thomas Lambert’s industrial manual Glue, Gelatine, and Their Allied Products (Charles Griffin & Co., London, 1905); and the modern historical softcover Free Energy Pioneer: John Worrell Keely by Theo Paijmans (IllumiNet Press, Georgia, 1998 copyright). These volumes feature cloth bindings, paper covers, and printed pages. Condition shows expected age-related wear, including fading, scuffing, and shelf wear to the bindings, minor foxing and toning to the pages, and a partial tear on the front flyleaf of The ABC of Electricity, though the text blocks remain intact. Stacked: H 4″, W 9″, D 6.5″. See photos for condition.
