Phonograph Records And Books Auction - ONLINE ONLY
Lot 2011:
Description
This exceptional collector’s lot features five essential reference works detailing the history and technology of recorded sound. Included in the stack are a pristine November 1928 edition of the Bell Laboratories Record (Vol. 7, No. 3) focusing on synchronized sound and scene; the authoritative Guinness Book of Recorded Sound (1984 first edition); The Orchestrope No. 28 catalog reprint by Frank W. Adams (1992); the highly regarded Antique Phonograph Advertising: An Illustrated History by Timothy C. Fabrizio and George F. Paul (published by Schiffer, 2002); and the scarce Italian historical perspective Stereostory: 1877-1977 100 anni di riproduzione sonora (1978). Together, they offer a sweeping look at the evolution of acoustic media from Edison’s cylinders to modern high-fidelity reproduction. The books are in generally good to very good vintage condition, exhibiting minor shelf wear, light edge toning, and minor corner bumping consistent with age and careful handling, though all bindings remain secure and texts clean. Stacked: H 3.25″, W 12″, D 9″. See photos for condition.
