Phonograph Records And Books Auction - ONLINE ONLY
Lot 2009:
Description
This collection offers an exceptional reference library focusing on early 20th-century recorded sound and rare picture discs. Included in this lot are Encyclopedia of Recorded Sound in the United States (1993, Garland Publishing, New York & London), Joe Lindsay’s Picture Discs of the World Price Guide first edition (1990, BIODisc, Scottsdale, AZ), and Tim Brooks’ comb-bound Little Wonder Records: A History and Discography (1999, New Amberola Phonograph Co., St. Johnsbury, VT). Additionally, the lot features a copy of Little Wonder Records and Bubble Books by Tim Brooks and Merle Sprinzen, which remains factory-sealed in its original shrink wrap, and a rare 1990 Cicadelic/BIODisc “Open-End Interview: A Hard Day’s Night” 7-inch black-and-white picture disc promotional record featuring The Beatles, manufactured by Erika Records, complete with its original translucent sleeve, stamped number 622, and printed transcript insert. These volumes cover critical discographical data, historical context, and pricing guides essential for evaluating early audio media formats. This collection is in very good condition overall; the reference books show minor exterior handling wear and slight corner rubbing, while internal pages remain clean, unmarked, and securely bound, and the vinyl picture disc shows no apparent visual scratches or defects. Stacked dimensions: H 3.75″, W 11.25″, D 9.25″. See photos for condition.
