Handwritten notes accompanying the piece suggest it may feature a performance by early recording pioneer J.W. Myers or relate to a “Gypsy” composition. Objectively, the cylinder remains in stable condition with no detrimental structural cracks or deep scratches, though it exhibits a layer of light surface mold and efflorescence typical for early wax mediums.
