Description
Brown wax 2-minute cylinder record accompanied by a rare original paper insert for selection No. 3010, the vocal duet “Rip Van Winkle,” produced by the American Phonograph Record Company under their “Perfection Master Records” line out of Brooklyn, New York. While the user notes the Edison tube is not original to this specific Perfection wax cylinder, the pairing makes for an exceptional artifact group from the height of the early independent phonograph industry era. Objectively, the cylinder is in stable condition with no visible cracks or detrimental marks, showing light expected surface aging; the Edison cardboard tube exhibits typical age wear, minor fading, and softening to the rims, while the Perfection paper slip remains intact with light toning and gentle creasing.
