Description
Artist is Gangewer. 19th to early 20th century. The work is copied after an original painting, originally executed by Frederick Arthur Bridgeman. Subject matter depicts a Middle Eastern style woman in an interior, playing a musical instrument. It is a framed oil painting on canvas signed by the artist in the lower left corner. Also bears a stamp on the back of the canvas which reads, “copied from the Corcoran Gallery Art. Some darkening to the surface but small paint chip near frame, edge upper right corner. Frame has been repainted and has chips to the decoration.
