Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2372:
Description
This striking early 20th-century floor lamp features a large, eight-sided slag glass shade characterized by warm caramel and sky blue marbled tones. The shade is further enhanced by ornate, Classical-style metal filigree overlays displaying floral swags and a decorative pierced crown. Supported by a tall, tapered wooden column, this piece reflects the transition from the Arts and Crafts era into more decorative Edwardian styles.
The glass panels appear intact with no major cracks visible, though the metalwork shows a significant aged patina and surface oxidation. The wooden base exhibits noticeable scuffing, scratches, and finish wear consistent with heavy use. There is a significant large crack and gap in the domed metal cap that sits directly above the top of the wooden post, representing a critical structural flaw. Additionally, the ball pull-chains for the dual-socket cluster are incomplete or cut, and the unit does not currently function and requires professional rewiring.
Dimensions: H 70″, W 20.75″, D 14″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/ Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
