Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2364a:
Description
This striking Seth Thomas Empire-style mantel clock, produced in Thomaston, Conn., features a rich rosewood-veneered case flanked by bold black columns with gold-toned capitals and bases. The original painted metal dial is adorned with floral corner motifs and centered with a visible brass movement stamped “S. Thomas, Plymouth, Conn. U.S.A.” The lower glass tablet depicts a charming gilt-stenciled scene of a woman and a lamb. Included is a brass winding key. Physically, the veneer shows some light wear and minor lifting consistent with age, and the interior paper label is partially torn but still clearly displays the maker’s marks. Notably, the weights and wooden pulley covers are missing, and the original cables have been replaced with monofilament line; consequently, the movement is untested and requires professional servicing to ensure functional operation. All glass panels remain free of cracks. H 25.25″, W 15″, D 4.5″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/ Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
