Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2362:
Description
This is a handsome late 19th-century American regulator-style wall clock, likely produced by the E.N. Welch Manufacturing Company of Forestville, Connecticut. The piece features a striking mixed-wood case with dark, ebonized architectural accents and carved floral and leaf motifs that characterize the Victorian Eastlake era. The paper-over-metal dial showcases bold Arabic numerals and is protected by a brass-bezel glass door, while the lower pendulum door is gilt-stenciled with “CLOCK A WEEK,” indicating an 8-day movement. The brass pendulum bob and interior gong strike are visible through the glass. The clock is in working order and chimes on the hour, though it has not been tested for long-term timekeeping accuracy. The case is in good antique condition, showing age-appropriate wear, minor scuffs to the ebonized finish, and some light oxidation on the brass bezel; it includes a winding key and a removable bottom spindle. H 35″, W 14.5″, D 5.25″. Please see photos for condition.
