Description
Piece of mid-century Americana advertising, a Dr. Barkers Horse Liniment Thermometer. Manufactured by Taylor Instrument Companies, this vertical metal thermometer features a classic recessed glass tube and bold cobalt blue, orange, and white enamel-style graphics. These large-scale thermometers were staples of hardware stores and liveries throughout the mid-20th century. The piece shows authentic character with scattered paint loss and oxidation, particularly along the edges and mounting holes. The glass tube remains intact and appears functional. The reverse shows the original red primer and a wooden stabilizing block. Please see photos for overall condition.
