The Top 300! - Spring Classic Part 2
Lot 30:
Description
RARE bottle of Rouyer Guillet Cognac, Vintage 1848. An extraordinary reverse Cognac from one of France’s most respected historic producers, Rouyer Guillet & Cie. This specific bottle is labeled as “100 Years Old” and carries the “1848” vintage distinction, just before the phylloxera plaque that wiped out European vineyards. The labeling suggests a mid-20th-century bottling, making it an extremely aged reserve. The bottle features the traditional protective wire netting and lead seal and a high fill level, which is excellent for its age. Labels show some minor age-related yellowing, light scuffing and edge wear, but remains remarkably intact and legible. The gold-tone foil capsule is secure and shows only light wear. The glass bottle is clean and shows no chips. This is a remarkable find for any serious spirits collector, see photos to judge overall condition.
