Description

Allen’s interests were far and wide. Among his items in his office was an archive of items pertaining to the Lindbergh baby kidnapping in 1932. Whether he was researching for a book or an article, or was just interested in the case is not known. Included is a Feb 14, 1925 newspaper with the headline,” Bruno Sentenced To Death”, a newspaper list with the serial numbers of the currency paid as ransom, an original pin back button celebrating Lindbergh’s New York to Paris flight, a post card from the lab where forensic testing was done, a Feb 1935 Official Detective magazine headlining the kidnapping (magazine in poor condition), a framed piece of sheet music titled, “The Little Lost Eagle” which paid homage to Lindbergh’s baby, a reproduction reward poster, 3 pieces of literature from plays produced about Bruno Hauptmann, a typed letter from 1935 with discussion about the case, and a reproduced 1934newspaper insert with photos announcing “Lindbergh Kidnapping Case Believed Solved. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
