Description
A fascinating collection of early 20th-century promotional booklets, pamphlets, and ephemera produced by Thomas A. Edison, Inc. out of Orange, New Jersey. This lot captures the golden age of early sound recording and includes titles like Edison and Music, The Life of Thomas A. Edison in Word and Picture (copyright 1927/1928), Edison Hours with Famous Composers (1928), A Master Product of a Master Mind, and a booklet for The New Edison Diamond Amberola (dated 1919-20). These pieces boast classic period typography, graphic illustrations, and the iconic Thomas A. Edison trademark signatures and monogram stamps on the reverse. The collection shows minor to moderate age-related wear, including light surface soiling, edge toning, minor corner creases, and faint staining on some pages; notably, the booklet titled “To hear ourselves as others hear us: Confidences concerning the modern Blarney Stone” has a detached cover that remains present.
