Description

An exceptional eight-piece collection of original, turn-of-the-century paper ephemera related to Thomas A. Edison’s phonograph innovations from Orange, New Jersey. This historic archive includes rare instructional items such as an “Edison Combination Type Home Phonograph Model ‘D’ Directions” booklet, an “Edison’s Great Invention” advertisement for the Magno-Electric Vitalizer from Munsey’s Magazine, a “Shaving Records” flyer by J.N. Kimball of New York, a detailed sheet on the “Clutch Shifting Bracket for Combination Attachment,” and a typed correspondence letter dated June 28, 1921, from The Pardee-Ellenberger Co. of Boston, Massachusetts. These antique paper pieces exhibit expected age-related wear including minor edge tears, light creases, foxing, scattered stains, and natural toning, but remain in good, legible condition overall. The measurements of the pieces vary, with the smallest booklet being approximately 5 1/2 inches tall by 3.25 inches wide, and the largest sheet of paper housed in a protective plastic sleeve measuring H 11″, W 8.5″, D 0.1″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allan Koenigsberg collection.
