Description
This vintage Dutch exhibition poster celebrates “100 Jaar Edison” (100 Years of Edison), advertising a grand buy-sell-exchange fair for antique gramophones, phonographs, and 78 RPM records held at the Antiekmarkt De Looier on Looiersgracht in Amsterdam. The piece displays a rich, vibrant collage of early sound reproduction technology, including horn phonographs, cylinder players, and rare early models from the E.M.I. London collection, with photography credited to Hans Babema Studio. Featuring bold typography set against a deep red-to-orange gradient background, the poster comes housed under glass in a classic, textured gold-toned composite frame. The piece shows light wear consistent with age, including minor handling waviness to the paper visible under the glass, and some light scuffing and edge wear to the metallic finish of the frame, but it remains structurally sound and ready for display.
