The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3251:
Description
This exceptionally rare piece of 1920s mechanical music history showcases original promotional material from the Deca-Disc Phonograph Company of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. This display beautifully illustrates six distinct photographic prints of their specialized multi-selection, coin-operated phonograph cabinets, and internal mechanisms. The prints are housed under glass within a custom brown matting featuring bold, hand-painted white lettering detailing the manufacturer and location, all set in a heavy, period-correct oak wood frame with a wire hanger backing. Objectively, the piece is in good vintage condition, exhibiting expected age-related wear including minor scuffs to the wood finish, light texturing on the painted lettering, and mild particulate settling beneath the glass pane, with no cracks to the glass or tears to the underlying prints. H 32.5″, W 34.5″, D 1.5″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available Post-Auction. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection
