Description

The Columbia Model BC, known as the “Twentieth Century” Graphophone, introduced by Columbia in 1905. It’s massive Higham reproducer was engineered to deliver loud volume capable of filling large concert halls. It was designed to play the 6″ 20th Century Columbia cylinders but will also play standard cylinders. This machine is in overall good original condition. The plating is original but dull. The paint and floral graphics are good. The Higham reproducer is in good condition with intact stylus. The wheel turns and produces great volume. The motor winds and runs well but it needs a new belt. The mandrel turns freely. The bedplate to case screws are missing. The original finish oak cabinet is in good condition with a fair banner decal on the front. The matching lid has serious veneer issues and will need to be rebuilt. The lid is also missing one pillar corner. 11 petal painted morning glory horn with fair paint and a nickel plated floor stand is included with this machine. Machine measures 19.25” wide, 14” deep, 17.5” tall with lid. Horn measures 35″long, 24″ in diameter. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
