The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3054:
Description
Introduced in 1897, the Model H coin slot cylinder phonograph was Edison’s answer to Columbia’s spring wound coin operated phonographs. The Manhattan Co. had been successfully putting square top Standard mechanisms in their version of a coin operated spring wound machine at about the same time. The H stayed in production until 1901. This is a beautiful all original machine. It is the 2nd style with the flat top carriage. Comes with the original marquee and a 15″ seamless all brass flare end horn. It currently has a broken spring and the motor will need to be serviced. Measures 18.5″ wide, 12″ deep, 22.5″ to the top of the marquee. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
