Description
Here is an early version of the Colt .22cal Conversion Unit for the Model 1911. These conversion units were initially introduced in the 1930’s and designed specifically for the Government Model .45 and the Colt Super .38 Automatic Pistols. They allowed for a cost-effective training tool for military and civilian shooters. This specific unit features the Colt marked slide assembly with vertical seriations, a riveted Colt magazine, barrel, floating chamber, ejector, recoil spring, slide stop, and an early version adjustable sight. The barrel bushing is missing. Blued finish is 90% with some light surface marks and edge wear. Bore and rifling are both in good condition. Included with the unit is an original, early style box with a hinged lid. The box is in vintage condition showing wear and marks consistent with use and long term storage.
