Description
A beautiful Persian Mauser Model 98/29 Infantry Rifle chambered in 7.92x57mm. Manufactured in Czechoslovakia by Brno for the Imperial Iranian government, the Model 98/29 are considered among the finest Mauser-style rifles ever produced due to their exceptional build quality and finishing. Under the original contract, CZ Brno produced the rifles from 1930 to 1938. This specific rifle displays the Imperial Iranian Emblem on top of the receiver. The receiver also bares the Farsi markings, which translate to “Mauser Model 1930” and “Manufactured at the Brno Arms Factory.” The serial number “02050”, written in Farsi, is stamped on the receiver, bolt and stock. The wood stock is in excellent condition for its age, showing minor storage dings and scratches. Stock also displays the Farsi inscription, translated to “Infantry”. Rifle exhibits majority of its original finish, showing some light oxidation on the trigger guard and floor plate. Bore is clean and the rifling is crisp. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. This is a high-quality Persian Mauser rifle with all matching numbers, clean stampings, a beautiful stock, and no import markings. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N:02050. C&R Eligible.
