Lot 1082:
Description
Here is a beautiful Marling Model 94 manufactured in 1905 and chamber in .32-20 Winchester. A classic, lightweight lever-action rifle, the Model 94 was originally introduced in the late 19th century and designed for small-to-medium game. It was favored for its low recoil and solid-top receiver with side ejection, a design choice that allowed for easier scope mounting compared to top-ejecting rifles like the Winchester Model 94. This particular rifle has a matching stock and forestock with an original plastic “Marling Safety” butt plate. Both the stock and forestock are in good condition, showing light dings, nicks and scratches from decades of use and storage. It features a half octagonal/round 24-inch barrel, a 6 shot tubular magazine, and a rear buckhorn rear sight with blade style front sight. The metal work is clean, exhibiting much of its factory finish and no sign of oxidation. The receiver has a case-hardened color, and the barrel and magazine are blued. Bore is clean and rifling is prominent. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 338141. C&R Eligible.
