Description
The Mossberg Model 44B bolt-action rifle, chambered in .22lr, was the commercial version of the U.S. government Model 44US, used for marksmanship training during World War II. After the war, many of the 44US versions were sold as surplus and civilian models continued to be produced until around 1949. This particular rifle features a 26-inch heavy barrel, a 7-round detachable magazine, a one-piece walnut stock, and a Mossberg No 4 peep sight. The stock is in really good condition, with minor scratches and dents from age and use. Bore is clean and rifling is good. Finish is at 85% with light oxidation on the barrel. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: NSN. C&R Eligible.
