Lot 1043:
Description
An American classic, the Remington Model 1894, double barrel, side by side 12-gauge shotgun. Built in 1895, this shotgun features 30-inch Damascus barrels, automatic ejector, break action hammerless boxlock, double triggers, and a checkered walnut stock/forend, with a pistol grip and hard rubber butt plate. The stock has a nice dark finish and is in good, solid condition for being over 130 years old. It does show some marks and dings from use and storage and there is a chip in the butt plate. The metal exhibits remnants of the original finish with a dark patina throughout. Manufacture proof markings and serial are clean and visible. The forend serial number does match the gun. Bore has some freckling, but overall good. Mechanically, the action and trigger are smooth, tight and appear to function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 102572 (Antique)
