Here is a commercial reproduction of the U.S. military M1 Carbine produced by Plainfield Machine out of Dunellen, New Jersey. Manufactured from 1962 to 1978, Plainfield Machine M1 Carbines were known as a high-quality reproduction, with many parts interchangeable with the US Military Carbines. This particular rifle’s serial number places production prior to 1973. It features one 15-round magazine, adjustable rear sight, reproduction G.I. style sling and magazine pouch, and oiler. The all-matching wood stock is in good condition with some storage and handling marks. Stock does display a “P” proof mark on the grip cap. Metal parts retain 90% of their original finish, with some oxidation on the butt plate. Bore is shiny and rifling is good. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. This is a perfect M1 Carbine for a reenactor looking to start a new impression or a firearm enthusiast wanting to add to their collection. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 19722.
