Description

This striking pair of Egyptian Revival relief panels captures the iconic scene of Queen Ankhesenamun anointing King Tutankhamun, inspired by the famous golden throne found in KV62. Rendered in a vibrant polychrome finish with gold-leaf style accents, these pieces are likely mid-to-late 20th-century resin or composite casts, designed to bring the “King Tut” craze of the 1970s into the modern home. The intricate borders feature faux-lapislazuli and turquoise inlays, topped by the Winged Sun of Thebes and a protective Uraeus. Also included is a coordinating hollow plastic cobra candle holder intended for wall mounting. The panels show some light surface dust and minor edge wear consistent with display; the cobra candle holder is currently broken and requires adhesive repair. Panel: H 31″, W 31″, D 2″. Cobra: H 10”, W 3”, D 2”. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
