Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1475:
Description
This elegant piece features a traditional Chinese ink and wash style painting of autumnal maple leaves on a silk or fine fabric ground, accented by a sophisticated dark wood frame with ornate geometric fretwork inserts. The delicate brushwork and calligraphic inscription suggest a mid-20th-century origin, capturing the scholarly aesthetic of “Bird and Flower” painting traditions. The frame’s interlocking “Gong” or “Wan” character motifs symbolize longevity and good fortune, making this a classic example of exported or high-end souvenir Asian art from the 1950s–70s. The piece appears to be in good vintage condition with some light surface dust, minor scuffs to the wooden frame edges, and very slight toning to the fabric consistent with age. Dimensions: 30″x41″x1.5″. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
