Framed original storyboard pencil sketch by John Jensen for the 1960 film, The Alamo. One of 6 original Alamo sketches in this auction, it depicts Santa Anna on horseback reading a proclamation. John L. Jensen was a prominent 20th-century Hollywood costume designer, illustrator, and storyboard artist known for his work on iconic films starting in the 1950s, including The Ten Commandments (1956), The Buccaneer (1958), and The Alamo (1960). He specialized in detailed, hand-drawn storyboard illustrations and conceptual art for directors. For The Alamo, Jensen served as a concept artist for Batjac, John Wayne’s production company, producing over 60 pages of hand-drawn storyboard illustrations, including key action scenes and character moments.
