Description
This is a classic 1940s-era black and white silver gelatin publicity photograph featuring the charming Hollywood starlet Jean Porter. Dressed in a sleek period swimsuit, Porter is captured in a playful “cheesecake” pose, a staple of Golden Age cinema marketing. The piece is hand-signed in bold black ink: “To Hollywood Blvd. Cinema! Jean Porter”, Porter (1922–2018)
was a classic “ingénue” of the 1940s, appearing in nearly 50 films and TV series. She frequently worked with MGM and RKO, starring alongside icons like Mickey Rooney and Esther Williams. She was also famously married to Edward Dmytryk, the Oscar-nominated director and member of the “Hollywood Ten.” The photograph is housed in a contemporary black tiered wooden frame with a glass front. The item appears to be in excellent vintage condition with no visible foxing or silvering to the image; the frame shows only minor storage scuffs to the edges. H 11″, W 9″, D 1″
