Description
This is a hauntingly classic piece of sci-fi history featuring David Hedison in his career-defining role as Andre Delambre from the 1958 horror masterpiece, The Fly. The image captures the chilling moment of his partial transformation, entangled in a spider’s web. It appears to be a high-contrast silver gelatin style still, housed in a contemporary black tiered frame. The photo bears a personalized silver ink inscription and signature in the lower-left corner: “To Allyson, you’ll feel the pinch! David Hedison.” As a specialist in mid-century cinema, I find the “pinch” reference a delightful nod to the film’s dialogue. The piece is in excellent vintage condition; the photo remains crisp with no visible silvering or moisture damage, and the frame shows only very minor shelf wear. H 10″, W 12″, D 1″.
