Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1316:
Description
This is a magnificent example of a traditional Chinese processional dragon, likely mid-to-late 20th century, constructed with a lightweight bamboo or wire frame and vibrant textiles. The head features the classic “Southern” style ornamentation with bold green and orange accents, faux fur trim, and shimmering sequins, while the body consists of a long, articulated “skin” of red and black fabric panels adorned with gold-flecked mesh and decorative tassels. Designed for multiple performers to manipulate, this piece captures the festive energy of Lunar New Year celebrations and is a striking example of folk-art craftsmanship. The item shows moderate wear consistent with use and age; there is some light fraying to the tassels, dust accumulation in the crevices of the head, and minor thinning of the faux fur, but the structure remains sound and the colors remain vibrant. H 36″, W 24″, D 156′. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
