Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1304:
Description
This is an impressive, oversized decorative folding wall fan featuring a vibrant red paper or fabric leaf. The central focal point is a large, hand-painted black calligraphy character for “Fu” representing good fortune and prosperity, flanked by smaller gold-toned poetic inscriptions. The guard sticks and ribs appear to be constructed from dark-stained wood or bamboo, providing a sturdy skeleton for this expansive piece. Its scale and traditional Art Deco-adjacent geometric border above it suggest it was a featured piece of interior Chinoiserie decor, likely dating to the mid-to-late 20th century. The item shows some minor creasing to the leaf material and light surface wear consistent with display and age, but it remains structurally sound and visually striking. H 39″, W 72″, D 3″. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
