Description
This grand-scale Egyptian Revival wall relief is expertly cast in resin to emulate the appearance of ancient weathered limestone. The piece captures the iconic New Kingdom aesthetic, featuring a winged sun disk above a ceremonial register of four figures—including deities and a pharaoh—flanked by royal cartouches. The lower half is densely packed with simulated hieroglyphic inscriptions, all finished with a distressed polychrome palette of terracotta, teal, and ochre. While designed to look like a heavy archaeological find from a temple site, the resin construction allows for a more manageable display piece than solid stone. The condition is excellent for a decorative cast, showing intentional factory-applied distressing, minor surface scuffs, and small chips along the simulated “cracked” edges that blend into the ancient aesthetic.
