Description
This striking Hollywood Regency style palm tree wall relief features a brilliant gold-leaf or gilded finish over what appears to be a cast composite or heavy resin material. Evoking the mid-century glamour of the 1960s, the piece displays tiered, overlapping fronds and a deeply textured trunk that terminates in a classic acanthus leaf base. The craftsmanship suggests a high-end decorative manufacturer, possibly originating from Italy or a boutique American design house like Syroco or Labarge. The item is in good vintage condition with some minor surface dust in the crevices and light rubbing to the gilt on the high points of the fronds, which adds to its aged character.
