Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1124:
Description
This striking piece is a classic example of Mid-Century Orientalist decor, likely of Chinese or Hong Kong origin from the mid-20th century. Crafted from heavy-gauge pierced brass, the dragon is depicted in a traditional serpentine “chasing the pearl” pose, featuring intricate hand-chased scale details and a flared tail. The brass has developed a warm, aged patina that highlights the depth of the casting. In my experience, these were popular high-end import items during the 1950s and 60s. The item is in good vintage condition with minor surface oxidation and light tarnish consistent with age, but no structural bends or breaks in the delicate pierced work. H 8″, W 24″, D 0.25″ Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection
