Lot 541:
Description
This delightful trio features a mid-century German ceramic jam or mustard pot, shaped like a ripening pear with a vibrant yellow-to-green glaze and sitting atop a lifelike leaf underplate marked “Made in Germany.” And has a underglaze hairline crack on the cover. Accompanying the pot are two opaline glass eggs, likely Bristol glass; one remains pristine white, while the other features a delicate hand-painted “Easter Greeting” with floral motifs, typical of late 19th or early 20th-century seasonal decor. The ceramic pot shows excellent glaze consistency with minor shelf wear on the unglazed foot of the saucer, while the hand-painted egg shows some expected fading and wear to the pigment. The plain white egg is in good condition with minor surface scuffs. Pot: H 4.75″, W 5.75″, D 3.75″; Eggs: H 6″, W 4″, and 4″ x3.5” 4pcs total with lid.
