Lot 510:
Description
This charming collection features four porcelain and bisque pieces, perfect for a shelf display. Included is a weathered marble like bust of a young child in a cap, likely of German origin; a German bisque figurine of a boy leaning against a grape-adorned pedestal urn marked “GERMANY” with mold number “2698”; and a matched pair of blue and white glazed porcelain Dutch girls carrying baskets, clearly marked “MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN” on the underside. These “Occupied Japan” pieces date specifically to the 1945–1952 era, making them a significant find for mid-century collectors. The boy figurine shows a notable chip on the front edge of the base, and there is a small chip or firing flaw on the underside of the child bust. General light surface wear and minor manufacturing imperfections are present across all pieces. Bust: H8.5”, W 3.25”, D 2.75”; Bisque boy: H 6.75”, W 4”, 2”; Japan: H 5”, W 2.5”, D 1”.
