Description
This charming four-piece ironstone tea service, featuring a teapot, lidded sugar bowl, and two graduated creamers, showcases the mid-19th-century “Tulip” pattern by Elsmore & Forster of Tunstall, England (operating 1853–1871). The set is crafted in white “Semi-Opaque China” and decorated with a transfer-printed and hand-enameled autumnal leaf and vine motif in copper-gold and deep purple. The pieces feature elegant lobed bodies and foliate-molded handles that embody the quintessential Victorian Staffordshire aesthetic. The undersides bear the impressed and printed maker’s marks, including the pattern name. Overall condition is good, minor staining on the foot rims and minor crazing. Teapot: H 9.5″, W 9″.
