Description
Vintage advertising sign for “Beauty Specialists in Hair Tinting & Bleaching” features a classic Art Deco illustration of a woman with a chic flapper-style bob. The striking graphic design uses high-contrast peach and black tones, typical of the jazz age visual style, professionally preserved in a custom frame with coordinating textured salmon-colored matting by Atrium Arts, Ltd. of Cary, Illinois. The piece captures the transition of the beauty industry in the early 20th century, making it a nice piece for a salon or advertising collection. The print exhibits signs of genuine age, including noticeable foxing and spotting on the face of the illustration and scattered throughout the background, along with minor debris trapped under the glazing; the modern black metal frame remains in solid condition.
