Description
A nice piece of Pacific Northwest financial history, this reverse-painted glass trade sign represents the “Pacific States Fire Insurance Company” of “Portland, Oregon”. The sign features an arched title in gold-tone lettering with red drop shadows, centered by an intricate “PSF” monogram logo. simple black-painted wooden frame, features a galvanized metal backing sheet secured with nails rather than wood. Condition is consistent with its age, showing heavy, uniform alligator crazing across the entire black background, which creates a textured matte aesthetic. The frame exhibits wear, including a notable wood split and loss at one corner.
