Description
D. Bailey maker marked Pennsylvania Rifle. Antique 1800s production rifle with Whitworth style hexagonal rifling. Rifle is similar to many that were used as sniper rifles in the Civil War on both sides. Rifle has been converted from flint lock to percussion ignition, Stock has military style buttplate added. and barrel shows signs of having had early telescopic sight mounted on barrel at one point. Barrel and stock are well worn and dinged from age and use. Very interesting rifle with a story to tell. See photos.
