An Apache Powder Company crate from Benson, Arizona, a classic piece of Western and mining Americana. This vintage wooden crate, clearly marked “50LBS. APACHE EXPLOSIVES GELATIN” and “HIGH EXPLOSIVES – DANGEROUS,” is a classic piece of industrial history, dating to the golden age of American mining and construction. The crate is particularly striking due to the original, bold stenciling on all sides, including the iconic Apache Powder Company trademark depicting a Native American chief’s profile encircled by cactus. Constructed of a light-toned wood, the crate and cleated lid are in good condition, H 8.5″, W 17.25″, D 11.5″
