Frederic Remington “Danger Ahead” Print
This is a classic reproduction print, titled “Danger Ahead” by the iconic American Western artist Frederic Remington (1861-1909). Remington’s art is the definitive visual record of the late 19th-century American West, focusing on cowboys, Native Americans, and the U.S. Cavalry. The original work was painted for P.F. Collier & Son and published around 1905. The image depicts a mounted cowboy on a brown horse, rifle in hand, surveying a sweeping, dry landscape. This particular reproduction appears to be a vintage one, possibly a high-quality lithograph from the mid-20th century, given the style of the framing and the paper’s apparent age. The print is housed in a simple, narrow wooden frame with a medium stain. The visual condition of the print appears good overall, with vibrant colors. Imperfections include a subtle wave or ripple in the paper near the center-left, and some minor surface wear and dust are visible on the frame and the print’s surface, consistent with age and storage. H 29″, W 19″, D 0.75″. From the Western display in Donley’s Wild West Town.
