Description
Marlin Safety with serial number “30705”. This is a lever-action, repeating rifle, caliber 44W with tubular a magazine. The butt stock and forward stock are made of walnut, which is in fair condition, showing handling and storage marks and small nicks. The receiver, butt plate, lever, and barrel exhibits remnants of a factory finish, which is worn due to normal use. The receiver is stamped at the top with “Marlin Safety”. The 24-inch barrel displays the markings “Marlin Fire-Arms Co. New Haven. CT, U.S.A. Patented. Oct. 11. 1887. April 2. 1889”. The barrel also displays the caliber markings “44W” near the receiver. There is a rear adjustable sight and a fixed dovetail front sight with a brass fin. The bore is clean and has good rifling. The lever action and hammer move smoothly and is tight. All markings are clean and crisp. Lower receiver screws show signs of marring. The overall length of the rifle is 41.5″.
