Description
This is an impressive, monumental-sized ‘Celestine’ Angel, marked “Bronze Elite by Henri,” which identifies it as a production piece by Henri Studio (founded by Henri Prosperi, originally based in Chicago/Illinois). Henri Studio is renowned for its high-quality cast stone and bronze statuary, and this large-scale angel is a signature example of their work in the classical garden statuary style, designed to evoke a sense of solemn reverence and welcoming grace. The material appears to be bronze or a heavy bronze-finished cast metal, confirmed to be non-magnetic, which is consistent with solid bronze alloy construction. It is skillfully given an aged verdigris or ‘Relic’ patina, which is characteristic of the manufacturer’s outdoor finishes. The condition is excellent with a heavy, multi-layered green-blue patina that suggests it has been properly seasoned outdoors, giving it an authentic, aged aesthetic. There is minor evidence of oxidation showing through to a warmer bronze tone on the inside edge of one wing near the bottom (visible in the detail photos) and general surface wear commensurate with being an outdoor feature, but no structural damage or major chips are visible.
