Description

This is a fantastic grouping of three vintage DX Gasoline pump plates, likely dating to the 1950s or 1960s, a desirable era for automobilia collectors. The red and white diamond-on-square logo—a highly recognizable piece of American gas station history—is emblazoned with the iconic blue “DX” lettering, instantly evoking the service stations of the mid-20th century. These are typically made of porcelainized metal or heavy gauge steel with baked enamel. The pump plates retain their vibrant red color but show significant wear consistent with decades of use and storage, including numerous scratches, scuffs, and some visible soiling across the surfaces. All three plates feature pre-drilled holes for mounting to a gas pump island cabinet, and the edges show expected chipping and minor bending. Two have a central mounting hole on the top and bottom edge and are red on the back. The third example does not have that central mounting hole and is white on back. The set is a great restoration project or would display beautifully as is with its honest unmolested patina. H 26″, W 25.5″, D 0.125′.
