Description

A magnificent and exceptionally detailed English made leaded glass window, dating to the High Victorian era, circa 1880. The stunningly complex design showcases a Moorish Revival or Aesthetic Movement influence, with intricate geometric and arabesque patterns woven throughout. The artist used a wide array of colored and textured glass to create a rich, jeweled effect that is truly breathtaking. Originally from a church or grand home, this window is a premier example of 19th-century artistry. It is in good, as-found condition, though it would benefit from a cleaning. There are a few tight cracks and one small missing piece of glass, consistent with its age. The window does not fit the new oak frame (see pics). Measures 66″ tall, 28″ wide. This window is VERY heavy.
