Description

This is a fantastic pair of vintage agricultural equipment emblems. Two distinct badges: one for Great Dane and one for New Idea. The Great Dane piece, likely from a trailer or silo, is a robust cast metal sign with an angled, parallelogram shape, featuring raised lettering painted white over a rusty-orange field, characteristic of mid-20th-century farm signage. The New Idea oval badge is stamped aluminum with a bright orange painted field and polished aluminum lettering, typical of the company’s vibrant, easy-to-read branding from the 1960s or ’70s. New Idea, known for its manure spreaders and corn pickers, was a major player based out of Coldwater, Ohio. Condition is consistent with age and outdoor use, showing heavy paint loss, oxidation, and surface rust on the Great Dane piece, and fading, surface scratches, and minor pitting on the New Idea emblem. Both pieces have original mounting holes. Great Dane: H 3.5″, W 16″, D 0.25″. New Idea: H 5.5″, W 14″, D 0.125″.
