Description
A fascinating and remarkably complete piece of medical history, this is a “Life Lite” ultra-violet ray lamp kit from the Art Deco era. Produced by Ultra-Violet Products, Inc. of Los Angeles, this set is a superb example of the “health” devices that were popular in the 1930s and 40s. The handheld lamp itself is a beautiful piece of design, crafted from rich brown bakelite with streamlined curves. The kit comes in its original black textured case, which features a handsome built-in timer on the control panel. Included are the original protective goggles and the “Book of Instruction,” making this a wonderfully complete package for any collector of quack medical devices or Art Deco objects. The set appears to be in very good cosmetic condition for its age; the case shows some exterior scuffs and wear to the hardware. Sold as a collectible display piece only.
