October Fall Classic
Lot 1094:
Description
This is a great piece of folk art or rustic advertising, likely from the early to mid-20th century. The sign is hand-painted on plywood, with the text “CLARK’S Again CAFE” in a distressed font with a blue drop shadow. The bottom of the sign reads “GALENA TRADING” and what looks like “GALENA TRADING CO.” The sign has a great patina, with significant paint chipping, fading, and a natural crackle to the finish, which adds to its authentic, rustic charm. The wood itself shows heavy wear, with chipping, splintering, and what appears to be water damage or rot along the edges. The sign measures 8 ft tall by 3.5 ft wide.
